Jasper Keller grew up in a Catholic household with divorced parents and an amazing older brother. Dealing with that division between his parents was hard, but it was in that suffering that the Father and the Blessed Mother drew him close. He went through JPII Catholic Schools from kindergarten through high school graduation. Though he grew distant from his faith in early high school, the Lord gave him the grace of reversion on a Search retreat his junior year. As a senior, God drew Jasper ever closer to Himself through prayer, and in this relationship with Jesus Christ, he was open to pursuing either marriage or the priesthood. After dating towards the end of senior year, Jasper met with his spiritual director to discuss the relationship. During that conversation, he was asked the question that would change his life: “How are you called to love?” It was as though a light had turned on in his heart. Suddenly, the priesthood, and even religious life, became very, very real possibilities. Throughout the following year of university, Jasper continued to grow in relationship with the Lord, and after much time spent in the Newman Center chapel, he felt the call to apply to the Diocese of Fargo. After having been accepted, Bishop Folda sent him to Saint Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, NE in order to become the greatest version of himself: to grow, to gain rich friendships, to study, to be formed, and above all to pray and discern the priesthood.
