Sacramental Preparation: Books Orders and Resources

Bishop John Folda has mandated that all parishes and schools in the Diocese of Fargo will be using the "Encounter" series; Reconciliation, Eucharist and Confirmation by Our Sunday Visitor beginning fall 2019.  You may still continue to order the other sacramental preparation books listed on the order form, however for those parishes and schools in this diocese, they can only be used as a supplemental in addition to the "Encounter" series

Parishes are still required to purchase or print off the web site, the Sacramental Preparation Handbooks for parents

Bishop Folda has mandated the use of Alive in Christ by Our Sunday Visitor as the main textbook series for grades 1-8th in parish and school religious education programs. For more information, visit the Curriculum page.

Adult Catechesis

Catechesis of adults is the principal (first) form of catechesis because it is “addressed to the persons who have the greatest responsibility and the capacity to live the Christian message in its fully developed form” (Pope John Paul II, Catechesi Tradendae 43).
